U Turn

(United States, 1997) With Sean Penn, Jennifer Lopez and Nick Nolte. Directed by Oliver Stone (JFK, Natural Born Killers). Category : Drama. Length : 2:05. Classification : 16 and over

Movie description :
Stone gets off his high horse and turns in a delirious noir thriller set in sunny Arizona. Playing a down-on-his-luck gambler, Penn gets repeatedly beat up, shot at, manipulated and generally screwed over after his car breaks down in a bizarre town full of violent, horny weirdos. As usual, the director goes all out with style - cutting, pasting, shooting from every angle possible - but his plot and setting seems borrowed from John Dahl's Red Rock West.

Dead end

The movies called U-Turn, in my honest oppinion it should have been called dead end. That is because this movie is boring and weird. Maybe the only thing men will like in this movie is the jennifer lopez nudity. Besides that this movie has not much more to offer. There is a bizzare twist with Nick Nolte and Jennifer lopez that may gross you out when you find out about it. Watch this if its on TV and all the other channels are off the air. Dead end seems like the proper name for this movie. This movie certainly did not add anything to my life besides the sense of losing 2 hours of my life. I'm rating it a well deserved poor.

Over The Top

U-Turn is Stone's take on the modern film-noir. Others in this genre have included Blood Simple and Red Rock West. One might argue that anything in category is going to be a bit contrived. But this film seems to be an extreme and it unfolds without any suspence or suprise. The predicament of Penn's character gets to be a bit exhausting and tiresome and you eagerly await the ending to put yourself out your own misery. Stone takes the whole thing less than seriously.

Oliver Stone Does It Again

There was one point in the life of Oliver Stone where he was the best filmmaker in the world and in the end he just lost his touch. U- Turn is a very explosive film that does not slow down a bit. Sean Penn gives another extraordinary performance. The story is about a man who stops in a small town on his way to Las Vegas to pay off a huge debt to some gangsters. In this town Sean Penn encounters every weirdo imaginable. This is one cool film to watch and watch out for Mrs. Hottie (Jennifer Lopez) who sizzles up the skin. I love the sex scene that she has with Sean Penn.

An interesting film

This was a interesting film to watch which stars Sean Penn who is trapped in a town in Arizona and nothing but bad luck hits him because the town is full of crazy people. Sean Penn character is a out of luck gambler who is trying to send payment to a bookie but is money is blown into pieses during a robbery attempt and is car breaks down and the mechanic is trying to screw him. This film had great acting and Oliver Stone did a great job in directing.

U-Turn Delivers the Goods

U-Turn is a fantastic film to watch that has plenty of twists and turns. Sean Penn encounters all the freaks and crazy's in this film and he never catches good luck throughout the film. Also co-starring with Sean Penn is the lovely Jennifer Lopez and Nick Nolte who give really excellent performances. In U-Turn Sean's character is jinxed. U-Turn is an exciting film to watch. Oliver Stone did a great job directing and stay tuned for his new film Alexander that will come out next week.
