Eraser

(United States, 1996) With Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vanessa Williams, James Caan. Directed by Chuck Russell (The Scorpion King). Category : Action. Length : 1:55. Classification : 13 and over

Movie description :
The latest movie to try to turn Arnie into a kind of muscle-bound James Bond. As expected, the audience only got charged up when, at the end, he turned back into the Arnie we know and love: grunting, chest exposed, and shooting everything in sight. A stolid and uninspired star vehicle.

The movie that marked the comeback of Arnold

After a few futile attempts at comedy, Arnold returned to his first love, the big budget action movie. Eraser, shot in 1996 featured co-stars Vanessa Williams and James Caan. It tells the story of a cop who works for some sort of witness protection program with a mission of "erasing" any existing evidence that may lead crook to witness.

Only this time, it's the agency that is pointed out by the witness, and since Arnold is a man of truth and justice, the department choses to say "to hell with him" and set him up. Arnold consequently need to also erase himself. This before coming back to seek vengeance on those who tried to kill him.

So the scenario is prett standard by action movie reference points, but it is exploited effectively. The suspense is decent, there is some funny twists and a comedy relief, and the action is breathtaking and spectacular. Without raising the bar, it easily passes the test.

This movie was a comeback of some sort for Arnold. It was good at the time to see him back in shape and to his old gunshooting days. Good action movie.

Good Idea But Predictable Ending!

What better way of hiding someone in the witness protection program than by erasing any sign of their presence. That's Arnie job and he seems pretty good at it. However when he has to erase Vanessa Williams (now who would want to do that!) things get sticky as Arnire realizes that this witness might some of his colleagues in trouble. From that point the movie turns into a run of the mill testosterone charged bloodbath. Too bad!

Arnold is Back in Action

Eraser was the movie that made Arnold Schwarzenegger made another 20 million dollars in his bank account. Eraser is a very cool action movie to watch that has all the energy and violence it needs to become a blockbuster. Eraser is a big action movie and it shows what Arnold does best which is blow away bad guys. Eraser is a film that will not disappoint you at all. Vanessa Williams plays the leading lady in the film and she surprised me because I thought that she was another wannabe model that wants to turn actress. Sadly this was the last good movie that Arnold ever did in his carrier.

Eraser

The female lead had strong moral fiber and stood up for what was right even when she knew the danger. This is an excellent role model for our children. I would like to comment that for an action movie this was extremely scientifically accurate. One final complaint, Arnold should have turned the other cheek instead of fighting back..

Don't erase!

This movie is good. a nice little comeback for Arny at the time when he wasn't doingso well at the boxoffice. Vanessa holds up her character nicely and easy on the eyes while James plays meaner characters as he ages in real life. what a scoundrel. Best scene is Arny unleashing alligators on bad guys as one gets bitten in half.
