"When it happened, some friends saw the silver lining - that we could now change the stuff we hated," says Perry, while Boeckner adds, "It helped the live show because having different versions of the songs stops you from just recreating the album every night."
The two are also involved in a summer project called getting married, one that seems to be getting as much attention as their Sub Pop debut, Plague Park, to Perry's amazement.
"Someone posted on our MySpace page when and where we're getting married, so we're going to start telling people we're getting married on a volcano in Iceland." They recount being asked in a recent interview if playing music together is ruining their relationship, which we all decide could be the angle the next time around. Boeckner: "The next tour we'll do the Fleetwood Mac thing and play shows with a Plexiglas screen between us."
The telephone game that is the Internet has plenty more to say about them. While the rumour that Boeckner spent his entire Wolf Parade advance on Perry's wedding ring is pretty good, this next one they share with me takes the cake:
